Meet the lucky Cairn Terriers brought into the Col. Potter Cairn Rescue Network in 2008. This is our fourth year to have a comprehensive listing of all terriers accepted by our rescue group. Our ability to rescue this tremendous amount of Cairns is ONLY due to the hard but rewarding work of our many Volunteers as well as your financial support of our Cairn Rescue Mall, Corporate Affiliate Programs, Grandparent and Guardian Angel Programs as well as the many Direct Donations with which you have been so generous. Thank you from all of us. IMPORTANT - The dogs on this page are not necessarily available for adoption. If you have applied to adopt a cairn from CPCRN, ONLY the dogs listed on the AVAILABLE CAIRNS page are currently available for adoption. This foster dog pictorial is to show ALL dogs that passed through CPCRN this year. It DOES NOT show Cairns available for adoption on any particular date. While all of our foster dogs for the current year will be listed here, many may not be available for adoption immediately OR AT ALL. Some will be in the process of being adopted, many will be already adopted, and others may be in our "FOSTER TO ADOPT" program. CPCRN evaluates the temperament and health of our dogs prior to any adoption availability and brings them current on their medical needs. Two beautiful Cairn girls were rescued and named in honor of Australia Day this weekend: Aussie and Barbie, her daughter.
Aussie was discovered to be pregnant with an infected uterus. Despite an emergency trip to the vet,Aussie's two baby girls are now CP angels who never had a chance at life.
Flinders is named after the Flinders Range in Australia.Wilpena is named after the Wilpena Pond which lies within the Flinders Range.

She also inherited another dog, Radar, 13 years ago, when her daughter left for college. The Cairn terrier is now both "blind and deaf, but still an incredible friend." In an effort to help other dogs, Harris founded an animal rescue organization, Bonaparte's Retreat, which is dedicated to providing nurturing foster care while seeking permanent homes for Nashville shelter dogs when their allotted time at the shelter has elapsed. | |

| On April 19, 1775, a shot was fired that was heard 'round the world. Itwas the beginning of the American Revolution. On this same date, in 2008, Col. Potter with the help of Deb and Jim Smartt, fought for the freedom of 7 Cairns from oppression and won their right to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." Yesterday, six little Cairns got to see the Midnight Sun, free to experience the phenomenon of freedom on the one day of the year that we experience the longest amount of daylight.

They are mostly shy, wary and timid. Hopefully, these baby boys will come around quickly and be able to enjoy what's left of their puppyhood!

It DOES NOT show Cairns available for adoption on any particular date. While all of our foster dogs for the current year will be listed here, many may not be available for adoption immediately OR AT ALL. Some will be in the process of being adopted, many will be already adopted, and others may be in our "FOSTER TO ADOPT" program. CPCRN evaluates the temperament and health of our dogs prior to any adoption availability and brings them current on their medical needs. Sadly some dogs we take in will NEVER be adopted because of health or temperament issues. PLEASE check the website for the current status and availability.
