One of ours could use all the prayers and positive energy you can send her way. Mary Lou Shobe is a member of CRM and a Home Safety Coordinator. It was through a message sent to her regarding Home Safety business that we received this message back from her daughter.
My mom was in a very serious accident Thursday night Nov 15. While walking Toto, her cairn rescue, she was hit by a car. She is in critical condition at Loyola in Chicago with a broken pelvis and shattered left leg. At this point, I am not sure what she was working on or who to contact, but I hacked into her email, and this is the first I saw. I am hoping that you will be able to let anyone she works with know that she is unavailable at this time. Toto was also hit by a car, and has a broken pelvis. It does not require surgery and the vet said with rest it will heal on its own in the next 4-6 weeks. The vet said Toto is fiesty as ever and doing well. Thank you for any help you might give in contacting people. Post Tribune Article on her accident We will be making a matching quilt for Toto - by using some of the same blocks coming in for Mary Lou's quilt. Blocks for Toto will need to be sewn, no buttons, paint etc to be eaten. If you want a block to go to the Toto Quilt - or to NOT be on it, please attach a note when you ship it. We will try to honor your request, but Toto's quilt will NOT need 20+ squares (smile). Color choices: She likes a lot of colors, but natural tones like greens and blues and rose colors are all colors that she has in her house. She's not a real big red person!

Since I'm on the BOD of CPCRN, I guess I need to put a disclaimer in. This is a heart project by Mary Lou's friends for her. It is a hug from all of us. It is NOT CPCRN 'the rescue' giving her a quilt. If you want to be a part of this very personal project... go get some fabric... and be sure to mail the completed block by the due date. In addition, non CPCRN friends and family of Mary Lou are more than welcome to join us in this quilt. As usual, we will be putting the squares online so everyone can see them. Once the quilt is done, we will also post its picture. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
